Writing a journal
for school can be a challenging and time consuming. In this article, you will

every teacher. Deadline soon - let's get started!
Submit Your Paper
Review the assignment
sheet and your section. Your journal should meet the requirements of your
teacher, so make sure the topic you want to write to the task. Then, check that
you write the correct paper type and use appropriate research material. You do
not want to do all the work to write journals and know you're doing it wrong.
[1]
If you had the
column, then you know exactly what to do to get high scores. Think of your
section as a checklist for your paper.
Researching your
topic to find your thesis. Learn about your topic and try to form your own
ideas about it, based on your research. Take notes while you find points of
interest and follow what interests you. The shape of your notes into a thesis
on the topic. [2]
The study that
you find will be used as your source, so make sure it is valid and can be shown
to your teacher.
Utilizing the
internet, books, and various academic databases to locate primary and secondary
sources were solid.
If you have
chosen a topic that does not fit with what you think, it's still too early.
Choose something else that you think are more easily written.
Brainstorming a
thesis. This journal will present your ideas. When you're doing research, what
questions do you find? What pattern do you notice? What reactions and your own
observations? Dive into yourself to find your thesis - a string that holds it
all together [3].
A good thesis
will briefly reveal the main idea of your journal in one or two sentences. It
also must:
Touch all the
points made in your paper
Explain the
importance of your argument
Logically sound
Appearing at the
end of the introductory paragraph
Here's an
example: In the story, showed his hypocrisy by admitting that he
satisfy his own greed, commit the same sin with which he curses, and tried to
sell his forgiveness after story.
Do additional
research to support your claim. In most cases, your first round of research
will not be enough to write a good journal. You need to do specific research to
find resources that support the claim that you want. You will switch from a
general search on your topic to targeted searches aimed at finding information
to support your own ideas. [4]
Choose the most
powerful sources to support your ideas.
Make sure your
reliable source to ensure they are not biased, found the author's credentials
and verifying that a trusted publisher.
Books,
international journals online database is the best place to find good
sources.
Create an
outline. This should set your mind and into the framework of your points. Do
not worry about quoting the example now, just plan how you want your paper
flow. This will save a lot of time in the long run. [5]
Write down any
points that come out of nowhere. Find information for a second time can be like
finding a needle in a haystack.
Organize your outline
to discuss the introduction, contents and conclusions. Bring the reader and
state your thesis in the intro, please support your reason in the body, and
wrap it all in the end
Plagiarism is
rife in the academic world, so why are rarely recognized?
When a professor
tore my work in the journal, they escaped without punishment. How can we expect
from the students' academic originality if we do not?
I always
considered plagiarism mainly done by some students who are lazy and overly ambitious
politicians. But since discovering plagiarism of my own work, I see it as a
more pervasive.
Three years ago,
I read about the latest research in the field of mine, when I find a sentence
that is quite familiar. Reread whole paragraphs, I realize this is my word - I
have been published in an academic blog two years earlier.
Turns 285-word
piece of defeat in the article copied word for word, only slightly changed, but
some other parts of the article using my argument without credit. There are no
footnotes or references recognized my work.
Students cheat in a more creative: how
academics can stop them?
I was stunned
because I do not believe a full professor with a high global standing - a
respected leaders in their fields - will do this. I am also pleased because, of
course, imitating a form of praise. Mostly I was angry because of important
articles I have recently declined, but here there are others that make me
half-baked blog published with their name. But I am also worried, because now I
have to prove the authenticity of my work. Even now, I still fear reprisals if
I ever publish the incident; I avoid my institution plagiar while experts have
recently visited.
As a first step,
of course, I consulted with the Internet, and, oddly enough, I found a great
source of advice for plagiar - but not for those who have been plagiarized.
These include suggestions that it makes no sense for scholars, such as
"five current legal proof strategy doomed to plagiarism".
I decided to
bring this case to the high-level economic journal in question. The editors
handled it very professionally. They pursued the author for several months, and
finally managed to get a lame response: plagiar experts admit that they
"did (accidentally) is very dependent" on my work, and suggested that
publishers revise the online version of the article was to repeat these words.
paragraph is meant by the words of their own. I insist on the word 285 set as a
block quote, which carried a journal. The editors also scored Corrigendum in
the next issue.
But not once in
the process the author or editor admitted that the problem was, in fact, is
plagiarism. Retraction should have been discussed.
Although this had
happened three years ago, something was still tickling: cheater escaped without
punishment. We try to instill a deep respect to our students on the source
material and references. But if a well-established academics tried to ignore
the work of others as their own, and are caught, whether quotations and downs
is the only consequence?
Of course, anyone
who reads the article will now find that my works cited. Corrigendum may warn
some readers on the next print issue for anything suspicious, and the editorial
board can put a question mark on a particular peer. But I wonder whether the
violation of academic integrity as it usually has minimal consequences.
I also realize I
was very lucky: I actually found a violation, is able to prove it, and suffer
minimal damage because of a post, rather than the entire book or paper, is
used. Of the other senior academics I've heard far worse case. One tells the
story of how, as a member of the editorial board, they presented an article by
a professor, which they claimed were stolen work of a PhD student. Luck of the
students is that the editor had seen them presented this work at a conference.
Perhaps the
academic pecking order is a contributing factor. Both cases involved senior
academics who dismantle baccalaureate less known. I doubt they will be
plagiarizing the work of others without thinking professors, for fear of
retaliation and loss of reputation.
After talking
with colleagues over the years, I got the impression that the use of other
people's ideas without permission is something that is widely recognized and
highly unpopular, but it is rarely discussed openly or problematic. In the
academic world, a compliment to the original analysis should be the key to
success, and we should be open to recognize the contributions of others.
Plagiarism simple
examination should be made for a respectable journals - as is the case for the
student journal. A few minutes of running the software can prevent all this
chaos, because my articles are easily found on the internet. However, I am not
sure about how to fight the use of the intellectual power juniors more dangerous,
as with professors who submit articles students, or those who use assistants to
do heavy work without acknowledging their work.
Perhaps the most
practical advice I can give is to always publish yourself: even the most rugged
working papers, discussion papers, or thrown to the Internet blog is proof that
the idea was yours first.
